Founded in 2007 in South Africa, Shackleton Risk provides niche insurance products such as Professional Indemnity and other financial loss insurance, including Executor Bonds, Curator Bonds, Liquidation Bonds and other guarantees.
Mark and Steven, as seasoned attorneys, had strong backgrounds in credit, banking, insolvency and corporate restructuring prior to founding the Shackleton Group and therefore had intimate knowledge of the insurance products required in the fiduciary space.
The company formed a cell captive within Safire Insurance company for this purpose. In 2024 the shareholders negotiated a successful exit of the investment to Safire.
