Who We Are
Endurance Capital is an independently owned private equity investment vehicle focused on the UK mid-market. It has a multinational investment legacy, with its origins in the Shackleton Group, a collection of financial services companies in South Africa, and later expanding to direct investments in the UK.
Our Approach
We pride ourselves in forming meaningful partnerships in all our portfolio companies. We invest alongside entrepreneurial owners and managers who are looking to grow their businesses organically and through further M&A activity. Having an entrepreneurial history ourselves, we understand what it takes to run a company and can support management teams on their growth journeys through strategic input when required. With no fixed exit requirement, we provide patient capital but also options for liquidity events for founders and management teams if needed. Partnership and collaboration are ultimately at the core of what we do.
OUR TEAM
Mark Lynn
BA, LLB
Mark is an experienced businessman, having co-founded a collection of South African financial services businesses known as the Shackleton Group, and is an Attorney. He is the previous Chairman of the Association of Insolvency Practitioners of South Africa, and has served on many other boards of sporting, charitable and academic institutions. Mark serves as the Executive Chairman of the Shackleton Group.
Steven Main
BA, LLB, LLM, MBA
Steven is an Attorney and co-founder of a collection of South African financial services businesses known as the Shackleton Group. He has experience in litigation, insolvency, insurance and banking. He previously served as Head of Legal and Compliance at BoE Corporate Bank prior to its incorporation into Nedbank. Steven has a Master of Laws degree as well as an MBA and is the CEO of the Shackleton Group and its offshore interest in Endurance Capital.
Richard Lynn
CA(SA), CFA
Richard is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst, having completed his articles at Ernst & Young and thereafter joined the Shackleton Group. Richard was the MD of Shackleton Risk Management for 4 years and has been a director of Shackleton Credit for 4 years. Concurrently, Richard has assisted with the formation of what is now Endurance Capital.
Robbie Lynn
MA (Hons), CFA
Robbie is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with 5 years' work experience in a private debt fund arranging and executing direct lending transactions. Over the 5 years he was involved in executing and managing over 25 transactions and the formation of 2 new funds. Robbie is assisting with the formation of what is now Endurance Capital and direct investments in the UK.
